- 1 small head Cabbage, cut into thick slices
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, for brushing
- 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 large Egg, optional, for binding
- 1 cup Cheese, for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Slice the cabbage into thick slices and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Combine the ground meat, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and optional egg in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.
- Shape the mixture into patties and place on top of the cabbage slices. Sprinkle cheese over each patty and bake for about 25 minutes or until the meat is cooked through and cheese is bubbly. For a crispy top, broil for the last few minutes.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with sweet potato fries or a garden salad. For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
