Ingredients

  • 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (190g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (115g)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (150g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
  3. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth but slightly chunky.
  4. Add the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla into the mashed bananas and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture with a spatula until no flour pockets remain.
  6. Dollop half of the batter into the loaf pan, then spoon half of the Nutella over it. Add the remaining batter and finish with the rest of the Nutella.
  7. Swirl the Nutella through the batter to create marbled ribbons.
  8. Bake for 55-65 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick at 55 minutes.
  9. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to ensure a moist and tender crumb. Let the bread cool adequately to prevent a gummy texture.
