Delightful cinnamon rolls made with store-bought dough, topped with creamy icing, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 8 tablespoons (1/2 cup) softened butter, divided
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons heavy cream (or milk + butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a pie plate.
  2. Stir the brown sugar into the melted butter until well combined, then cover the pie plate’s bottom evenly with this mixture.
  3. Unroll the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls and pinch the seams together to create one large sheet of dough.
  4. Spread the remaining softened butter over the dough evenly.
  5. Mix the white sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle this mixture generously over the buttered dough.
  6. Roll the dough back up into a log and cut into 8 equal-sized cinnamon rolls.
  7. Place the rolls into the prepared pie plate and sprinkle them with any leftover cinnamon sugar.
  8. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the icing by mixing the powdered sugar, heavy cream (or milk + butter), and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls once they come out of the oven, then serve immediately.

Notes

Pinch seams vigorously for a seamless roll. Serve warm for the best taste.
