- 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt, divided
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tablespoon Water
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 Large sweet onion, cut into 1/2 in thick rings
- Cooking spray, to coat
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, smoked paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt in a shallow dish.
- Beat the egg with water in another shallow dish.
- Combine panko breadcrumbs and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt in a third dish.
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and finish with the panko mixture.
- Coat both sides of the onion rings lightly with cooking spray.
- Place the onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for about 10 minutes, flipping at the 6-minute mark.
Notes
Serve immediately for best texture. Pair with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch or barbecue.
