- 1 pound sliced beef sirloin
- 4 cups chopped bok choy
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
- Cooked noodles for serving
Instructions
- Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain and marinate it in a mixing bowl with soy sauce, salt, and pepper for about 5 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through; set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Toss in the chopped bok choy and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until just tender yet still crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet and mix in the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce.
- Create a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch and water together, then pour this into the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed, and serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
Marinate the beef for at least 5 minutes for enhanced flavor. Serve additional sauces on the side for extra seasoning.
