  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and let the unsalted butter and large eggs sit at room temperature.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Using a mixer, beat the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add in both sugars and cream together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Slowly mix in the flour mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Optional: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking.
