Homemade vanilla oat milk is a creamy, dairy-free alternative that’s perfect for smoothies, coffee, or enjoyed on its own.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 cups 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Sweetener of choice (optional, e.g., maple syrup or agave syrup)

Instructions

  1. In your blender, combine the rolled oats, water, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until well combined, avoiding over-blending.
  3. Strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher.
  4. If desired, sweeten to taste, stir well, and pour into an airtight container.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days, shaking well before using.

Notes

Great for adding to coffee, smoothies, or as a stand-alone drink. It naturally separates, so make sure to shake before use.
