Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- In another bowl, combine the warmed milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Stir until well blended.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth (about 5 minutes).
- Cover the dough and let it rise until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).
- Fry the dough in hot oil until golden brown and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Experiment with adding lemon zest or almond extract for unique flavor variations.
