Ingredients
- Whole Turkey (12-14 lbs)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Chicken Broth (2 cups)
- Onion, quartered (1)
- Carrots, chopped (2)
- Celery stalks, chopped (2)
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage) to taste
- Olive oil or melted butter to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the giblets from the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Generously season the cavity of the turkey with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the cavity with quartered onion, chopped carrots, celery, and fresh herbs.
- Rub the outside with olive oil or melted butter and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Roast the turkey for approximately 13-15 minutes per pound until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Baste the turkey periodically with the broth.
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
