- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 cup Vegetable oil or melted butter
- 4 Large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 2 cups Chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix the sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil or melted butter, and eggs in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add this to the wet ingredients.
- Add the vanilla extract and fold in the chopped pecans.
- Bake the batter in the prepared pan for 30 to 35 minutes until golden, and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely and slice into squares for serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, substitute all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Top with whipped cream or caramel sauce when serving.
