  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup strawberry icing or more strawberries for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and vegetable oil in a large mixing bowl, blending until smooth.
  3. Mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon mixture and strawberries, then layer with the remaining batter, cinnamon mixture, and strawberries. Swirl to create a marbled effect. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool and drizzle with icing.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter for best texture. Use fresh strawberries for maximum flavor.
