Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup grated cheese
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean and trim the Brussels sprouts, cutting them finely.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the Brussels sprouts until tender and slightly crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Let the mixture cool slightly; then combine with grated cheese and breadcrumbs, adding the beaten egg if desired.
  6. Form small tots using wet hands and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
