  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups sweet strawberries
  • 2 cups tart rhubarb
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine sweet strawberries, tart rhubarb, granulated sugar, and fresh lemon juice in a large saucepan. Stir well to evenly distribute the sugar.
  2. Cook over medium heat until the fruits break down and the mixture begins to thicken, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  3. Stir in pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg, and cook for another 5-10 minutes until desired thickness is achieved.
  4. Pour the mixture into sterilized jars and let cool before sealing.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or process for longer storage.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust the sugar based on the tartness of your fruit.
