Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish with soft butter.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream the granulated sugar and softened butter until fluffy. Add the egg, buttermilk, red food coloring, and vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry mix into the wet mixture.
  5. Roll out the dough onto a floured surface, spread softened butter over it, and sprinkle with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.
