Indulge in the crispy, cheesy goodness of these pickle cheddar sandwich buns. Perfect for a snack, lunch, or casual get-together.

  • Total Time: 13 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese (about 1/4 inch thick and 3-4 inches wide)
  • Nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper (as needed)
  • 12 to 14 slices sandwich pickles (drained and patted dry)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 4 slices deli turkey or chicken

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Arrange 4 cheddar cheese slices on the prepared sheet, spacing them well apart. Evenly layer pickle slices on each cheese slice, overlapping them to cover most of the surface.
  3. Place another cheddar slice atop each pickle layer, gently pressing down to encapsulate the pickles. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until the cheese melts and edges turn golden. Let them cool for 5 minutes to set before adding your preferred fillings.

Notes

These buns are best served immediately while warm and crispy; the texture degrades when allowed to sit too long.
