- 1 lb Ground turkey
- 1 packet (1 oz) Taco seasoning
- 12 Taco shells
- 1 can (16 oz) Refried beans
- 2 cups Shredded cheese
- 2 cups Lettuce, shredded
- 1 cup Tomato, diced
- 1 Avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup Sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Add the ground turkey to a large skillet over medium heat and cook until no longer pink.
- Drain any excess fat and stir in the taco seasoning, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
- Spread a layer of refried beans in a baking dish.
- Stand taco shells upright in the dish and fill each with the seasoned turkey mixture.
- Top each taco with shredded cheese.
- Bake for about 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and shells are crispy.
- Allow the tacos to cool for a few minutes, then garnish.
- Serve with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado along with sour cream.
Notes
Allow tacos to cool slightly for extra crispness. You can swap ground turkey for shredded chicken or a plant-based protein.
