- 2 Mashed Ripe Bananas
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, Melted
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
- Salted Caramel Buttercream for Frosting (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter.
- Add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate this mixture into the banana mix, stirring just until combined.
- If using walnuts, gently fold them in now.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly before placing it in the oven.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before frosting with the salted caramel buttercream.
Notes
These bars are best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or yogurt. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days.
