Discover the irresistible One-Button Apple Roasted Chicken recipe, combining juicy chicken with sweet apples and savory sauces in a rice cooker for a hassle-free meal.

  • Total Time: 100 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

  • Whole chicken or chicken pieces (1, 3 to 4 lbs)
  • Apples, cut into chunks (2 cups)
  • Onion, sliced (1 large)
  • Light soy sauce (1/4 cup)
  • Oyster sauce (2 tablespoons)
  • Dark soy sauce (1 tablespoon)
  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Brown sugar (optional, 1 tablespoon)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Clean and pat the chicken dry. Cut the apples into manageable chunks and slice the onion.
  2. Layer the ingredients: Position the apple chunks and sliced onions at the bottom of your rice cooker.
  3. Add the chicken and sauces: Place the chicken on top and pour in the light soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, butter, and brown sugar (if desired).
  4. Initiate the cooking process: Press the cook button on your rice cooker. Once it switches to warm, flip the chicken to ensure even cooking, then cook again until fully tender and glazed.

Notes

For a lighter option, use chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken and feel free to experiment with different apple varieties or spices for added flavor.
