Ingredients

  • 4 medium yams, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Salt, for boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and chop the yams into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Boil the yams in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Test for doneness with a fork.
  4. Drain and transfer the yams to a baking dish, spraying it lightly with cooking spray.
  5. Mix the marshmallows, pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter in a bowl.
  6. Spread the mixture over the yams in the dish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, keeping an eye on it to prevent burning.

Notes

For a vegan version, use dairy-free butter and marshmallows. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
