Description

Grilling asparagus in foil is a simple and foolproof way to get tender, smoky, and flavorful asparagus without the risk of burning or drying out.

Ingredients

Scale

1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed

2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice or zest

Aluminum foil

Instructions

Preheat your grill to 375–400°F (190–200°C).

Rinse asparagus, pat dry, and trim woody ends.

Lay asparagus on a sheet of foil.

Drizzle with olive oil or butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Add lemon juice or zest, then toss to coat evenly.

Wrap foil into a sealed packet, leaving space inside for steam.

Place foil packet on grill grates and cook for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Open foil carefully and check for doneness — asparagus should be tender but slightly crisp.

Optional: Open foil for the last 2–3 minutes for a light char.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to preserve texture. Pair with grilled meats or toss into salads and pastas.
