- 3 cups flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and Italian seasoning to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 to 7 minutes on a floured surface.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf or breadsticks.
- Place the shaped dough on a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool slightly before slicing and serve as a side dish or for sandwiches.
Notes
Try adding fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for additional flavor. For a cheesy variation, add mozzarella on top before baking.
