- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the eggs followed by the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Shape the dough into heart shapes using a cookie cutter and place them on the tray. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden, then cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider using whole wheat flour or experimenting with different types of chocolate chips.
