Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the eggs followed by the vanilla extract.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Shape the dough into heart shapes using a cookie cutter and place them on the tray. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden, then cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using whole wheat flour or experimenting with different types of chocolate chips.
