- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, warm the milk and butter over low heat.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them in the pot.
- Gradually add the warm milk and butter mixture while mashing until creamy.
- Stir in minced garlic and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute butter with olive oil and use plant-based cheese. They pair well with gravy or roasted vegetables.
