Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 1 cup water or milk
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Evenly spread the chopped nuts and shredded coconut over the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. Combine the chocolate cake mix, water or milk, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the layer of nuts and coconut.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter together. Gradually add the powdered sugar until creamy.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter to create marbled swirls.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, test for doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.
