- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or jam
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until evenly combined, then fold into the wet ingredients.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls, placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Create a small indentation in the center of each dough ball, then fill with chocolate chips or jam.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until edges are firm, then allow to cool before transferring to a wire rack.
