- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 Large egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Maple syrup
- 1/2 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, folding in nuts if using.
- Drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underdone.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. You can freeze them for up to three months.
