  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup crushed caramel candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk until combined.
  5. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool completely on a rack before frosting.
  10. Mix caramel sauce with softened butter and powdered sugar to frost and top with crushed caramel candies.

Notes

Ensure cakes are completely cool before frosting. For a different twist, use dark chocolate instead of caramel.
