- 2 cups sliced apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Grease the crockpot generously to prevent sticking.
- Layer the sliced apples in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the caramel and apple mixture.
- Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top, followed by optional nuts.
- Pour water around the edges of the cake mix.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, checking for doneness at 4 hours.
- Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
Frozen apples can be used; just ensure they are thawed and drained. Consider baking in a preheated oven at 350°F for 35-40 minutes if not using a crockpot.
