- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, packed brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the butterscotch chips and nuts if using.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool before cutting and serving.
Notes
These bars are customizable; try swapping butterscotch chips for chocolate chips or adding sea salt on top for extra flavor.
