1 3/4 cup (220 g) all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups (255 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Gather butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.
- Brown the butter: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until it foams, turns golden, and smells nutty (about 5–7 minutes).
- Mix wet ingredients: In a bowl, combine warm browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir, then add egg, yolk, and vanilla. Mix until creamy.
- Incorporate dry ingredients: Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually fold into the wet mixture. Do not overmix.
- Add chocolate chips and chill: Fold in chocolate chips. Cover dough and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Bake the cookies: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment. Scoop dough into 1.5 oz balls, spaced 2 inches apart. Bake for 12–13 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool and serve: Sprinkle sea salt on top and let cookies cool on the tray. Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container.
