- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 cup fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan, pricking the bottom with a fork.
- Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese over the prepared pastry.
- Arrange the asparagus pieces artfully on top of the cheese.
- Pour the egg and cream mixture over the asparagus and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the tart cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
Use fresh herbs for garnish for an extra pop of flavor.
