- 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
- 4 flour tortillas
Instructions
- Melt unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; cook for 8-10 minutes until apples are tender and caramelized.
- In a separate bowl, mix softened cream cheese with maple syrup until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over one half of each tortilla.
- Add the apple filling on top of the cream cheese and fold tortillas over.
- Toast each quesadilla in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Slice into wedges and serve warm, optionally topped with powdered sugar or yogurt.
Notes
For extra richness, use more butter when toasting the quesadillas. Experiment with adding nuts or different fruits for variety.
